Welcome to Anatolian Shepherd Dog!
Here you will be able to read all about the adventures of Kizzy, an Anatolian Shepherd Dog, or Kangal, or Karabash (depending on your point of view – see ‘about the breed’) born 2nd December 2008, one of a litter of 6 puppies born to Seacop Kadirga (sire) and Seacop Selena (dam – pet name Elsa) in the Scottish Highlands.
Her full name is Foudland Kiz Guzel, Foudland being her kennel name (from breeder Tim Glover), and Kiz Guzel (pronounced ‘juh-zell’) is a Turkish name that we chose meaning ‘beautiful daughter’. She is also of a good pedigree with Crufts winners in her line, including both her parents.
We have met both parents (who we adore) and have chosen Kizzy (or rather she chose us!) from a choice of 2 girls.
It was a long journey, Staffordshire to Aberdeenshire (approx 470 miles each way!!), but well worth it as Tim has bred beautiful pups and after meeting the parents we know that the Anatolian, and especially Kizzy, is the dog that we want to share our lives with. Actually we would have flown to the moon for her if we had to!
Tim and John were very generously hospitable too, thanks guys ![]()
We have been having weekly progress reports from Tim, and if his dedication to providing us with with regular updates was ever in doubt, how about receiving photographs on christmas day?
Here’s Kizzy and her sister at just 5 days old…..more in the Galleries, with thanks to Tim!
